Classic Japan Tour 8 nights - Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto and Osaka

A classic route to cover Tokyo, Hakone, and Kyoto City. You will arrive in Tokyo and spend 3 nights to explore the city. Afterward, you will transfer to the Hakone Onsen area, admire the great Mt. Fuji, and enjoy the famous Onsen. You will then go on to Kyoto for another 3 nights, and finally leave from Osaka. You can also choose to reverse the route and start in Osaka.

10:30~11:30 Explore Akihabara. Try one of the themed cafes.

11:50~13:00 Subway to Ginza and explore the district.
13:00~14:00 Walk to Tsukiji Fish Market and eat sushi lunch.
14:00~14:40 Train to Odaiba for teamLab Borderless DIGITAL ART MUSEUM
14:40~15:00 Explore Palette Town, walk through Toyota Mega Web. Say goodbye to guide and enjoy teamLab Borderless. Return to hotel on own.
Day 4 Private Tour of Hakone
10:00~11:30 Take Hakone Romance Car from Shinjuku station to Hakone Yumoto station
11:30~17:00 Meet guide at Hakone Yumoto station. Leave luggage at your hotel and explore Hakone.
*Take Hakone Tozan Train to visit Hakone Open Air Museum.
*Catch Hakone Tozan Cable Car and Hakone Ropeway to enjoy cruise on Lake Ashi
*Walk 10 mins from Motohakone Port to Hakone Shrine and feel the spirit of power spot.
*Take local bus to return to your hotel. End of tour
Evening Enjoy dinner and onsen at ryokan.
Day 5 Half Day Private Tour of Kyoto
Morning Take bus or train from Hakone Yumoto station to Odawara station. Approxately 40 mins.

12:12~16:00 Meet your guide at Kyoto station platform. Take subway to leave your luggage at hotel.
Explore Higashiyama district. Visit Kiyomizu Temple and walk Ninenzaka & Sannenzaka. Say goodbye to guide at tea ceremony studio.
16:00~17:00 Experience Japanese tea ceremony (shared experience). Later, make your way back to hotel on own or explore Gion area by yourself.
Day 6 Private Tour of Kyoto
09:00~10:30 Meet guide at hotel. Walk and visit Nijo Castle.
10:30~12:00 Subway to Nishiki Market. Enjoy tasting local foods and sake.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN TOKYO

Arrive at Narita Airport (NRT) and meet your English speaking assistant. Transfer to Tokyo by limousine bus or train on your own.

DAY 2: DAY TOUR IN TOKYO

Explore the west part of Tokyo city today. Visit Meiji Jingu, one of the most famous shrines in Japan, and visit the garden inside. Then, walk through the bustling Harajuku area, known for its unique street fashion. Finally, visit the Nezu Museum and end the tour in the busy Shibuya area.

DAY 3: TOKYO DAY TOUR

Today you will have a day tour in eastern Tokyo. Immerse
yourself in the spectacular Team-Lab Digital Art Museum in the morning. In the afternoon, unwind in Hamarikyu Gardens. Finally, visit Tokyo Tower, the second-tallest structure in Japan.

DAY 4: TRAVEL TO HAKONE

Today you will take an express train to Hakone, a popular destination for hot springs and views of Mt. Fuji, in the morning. Upon arriving, you will visit the Hakone Open-Air Museum. Have lunch and then ride the Hakone Ropeway to take in the beautiful scenery of the mountains, to Owakudani Valley. Once you reach the top of the ropeway, enjoy a scenic cruise on Lake Ashinoko, from which you can see Mt. Fuji. If time permits, visit Hakone Shrine as well.

DAY 5: TRAVEL FROM HAKONE TO KYOTO

Catch a bullet train from Odawara to Kyoto this morning. Enjoy a half-day tour after lunch starting with Shorenin Monzeki temple, one of only five temples in Japan of which the priest was originally a member of the imperial family. Then, join a tea ceremony class to experience a part of traditional Japan for yourself. Finish the tour with a stroll around the Gion district, where you may catch a glimpse of a geisha.

DAY 6: KYOTO DAY TOUR

Start your day with a food tour in Nishiki Market, known as the kitchen of Kyoto. You can sample some of the food you see during the tour, but save room for lunch! In the afternoon, visit a local Japanese sake brewery. Finish the tour with the famous Fushimi Inari Grand Shrine, known for the path up the mountain through red Torii gates.

DAY 7: FREE DAY IN KYOTO

Explore Kyoto on your own. You may want to visit the Arashiyama area, or even go for an excursion to Nara city.

DAY 8: Private Tour of Osaka

Visit two of the most popular destinations in Osaka: Osaka Castle and Namba & Dotonbori district. 

DAY 9: OSAKA/KIX

Check out your hotel and transfer to KIX airport by train.
